Purpose of Forms: International students can use forms to submit updates, report required information, or request authorizations from our office such as an approved reduction in enrollment, or type of work authorization. All forms are linked below. Most forms are electronic forms that students can access in their IPConnect portal.
Some requests may require the additional feedback of an academic department to confirm academic details.
Processing time: Requests can take about 2 weeks to process, while we balance fairness, efficiency, and sensitivity to government reporting timelines.
For academic advisors and other campus partners: While immigration advising is very individualized, we have some general information available below and on our Registration Requirements page. For questions, feel free to reach out to the designated international student advisor at OIS that is the liaison with your college, or contact us via phone or email.
International students must maintain full-time enrollment unless approved for one of the specific exemptions listed below. Read more about the allowed reasons for a reduced course load.
Students sponsored by entities such as a government or embassy can request documents from OIS to help them fulfill sponsorship obligations.
F-1 students will have a document called a Form I-20, “Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status.” Our request forms allow students to obtain updated I-20's, additional signatures, etc.
J-1 students will have a DS-2019 document and can place requests to OIS related to this.
Students can use these forms to submit required information as well as additional information that assists us in advising.
For any questions about e-forms, please refer to the IP Connect guide page.
