Adria Buncal

Adria Buncal serves as the International Scholar Advisor at Oregon State University, where she supports international employees and scholars, and sponsoring departments in navigating immigration regulations. She specializes in the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program categories—Research Scholar, Short-Term Scholar, Specialist, and Student Intern—and also incoming Fulbright Scholars. Her work includes coordinating scholar orientation information, cultural programming and outreach to ensure a successful and enriching experience for visiting scholars and employees.

With a career in international education that began in 2008, Adria has presented at NAFSA national and regional conferences and served as a regional leader for the Knowledge Community for International Student and Scholar Services. She holds a BA in East Asian Studies from Western Washington University and an MSEd in College Student Services Administration from Oregon State University, with a focus in International Education. She received the OSU International Service Award for her contributions to global engagement.

Outside of her professional role, Adria is deeply involved in cultural exchange and community engagement. She hosts exchange students in her home, volunteers with the Corvallis Multicultural Literacy Center and various cultural groups, and regularly participates in cultural programs throughout the region.
