The Office of International Services (OIS) is happy to provide assistance with various updates to your immigration documents, shipping services, and resources for filing taxes while in the US.

Express Mail Shipping

University Express Mail Service (UEMS) is an online service that allows you to easily pay for FedEx, UPS, or DHL with your credit card. Using this service allows you to get a good rate on your shipment, pay for the package in a secure way, and track your package once we ship it. Do not request delivery through the FedEx, UPS, or DHL websites directly. All carrier-related communication will be handled by the UEMS service.

Use the “FAQ” link in the UEMS site to resolve technical problems.

Additional Information on Tax Filing Software

International Students, Exchange Visitors, & Employees have access to Sprintax, an online tax software to assist you with filing your federal income taxes. Sprintax will help you prepare your tax return and provide you with step-by-step instructions of when to file, how to file, and where to file your taxes. You will not be able to submit your tax forms online.

Sprintax has many benefits, including the ability to use a 24-hour live instant messaging tool with tax experts to answer your questions. If you have any questions about using the Sprintax software, please contact hello@sprintax.com or use the Live Messenger tool in your Sprintax account.

Learn more about Sprintax

Oregon State University provides access to Sprintax, an online tax filing software, as a courtesy. The university cannot guarantee that the resources identified, including Sprintax, will meet your needs. If you need extra assistance or have a complicated tax situation, you can hire a tax professional.

OIS will send you a payment code via your ONID email account by late February to use Sprintax. Some tax preparation is free using OSU’s Sprintax code, however, there may be a fee associated with other services. If you have not received a Sprintax access code by late February, please email us.

Please do not share the Sprintax access code with anyone other than international students and scholars at OSU as we have a limited number of codes available. The access code will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis, so please file your taxes early.

If you want to learn more about how to use Sprintax come to our Sprintax Workshops, offered each Winter term during tax season. You will receive dates and sign up information for the workshops when you are notified about Sprintax in February. Please note: Presenting OIS staff are not licensed or certified tax accountants and are therefore not qualified to advise on tax preparation.
