E-3 status provides work authorization for Australian nationals who are employed by OSU in a position that requires at least a bachelor’s degree in a specialized field.

E-3 status has no mandated maximum length, and is authorized in increments of up to 2 years at a time.
E-3 employment authorization is specific to the position for which the work authorization is granted. OSU cannot change an E-3 employee’s position without updating the E-3 immigration work authorization first.
Family members of an E-3 employee can come to the US in E-3D status. Spouses of E-3 employees (in E-3D status) may work in the US after receiving work authorization documentation from the Immigration Service.
